Summary: AffirmedRx is on a mission to improve health care outcomes by bringing clarity, integrity, and trust to pharmacy benefit management. The Data Engineering Intern will play a critical role in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers analytics and reporting across the organization. Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources including pharmacy claims, eligibility files, and client data feeds - Support automation of file processing workflows, including format standardization and validation - Create and maintain documentation for data models, pipeline architecture, and transformation logic - Implement data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of source data - Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline failures and anomalies - Support the design and maintenance of dimensional models in our cloud data warehouse - Partner with analytics and reporting teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable, well-structured datasets - Ensure adherence to compliance and data security standards when handling sensitive information (PHI and PII), including completion of HIPAA training - Participate in code reviews and follow version control best practices Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related technical field - Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts and relational databases - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language (Python preferred) - Exposure to cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, or AWS a plus) Required Skills: ETL/ELT pipelines, SQL, Python Important Skills: Data warehousing, Cloud platforms Nice-to-Have Skills: Problem-solving, Attention to detail, Communication skills Benefits: Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools (Snowflake, dbt, Azure), Exposure to real-world healthcare data engineering challenges at scale, To impact industry change in the pharmacy benefits management space, To work in a culture where people thrive because when OUR team thrives, OUR business thrives
