Role Description:

This is a full-time remote role for a versatile Robotics Software Engineer specializing in autonomous systems, particularly UAVs. You'll handle real-time sensor data, set up robust communication protocols, integrate drone control systems, and build comprehensive simulation environments. Your role is critical for enabling autonomous capabilities, command handling, and optimizing UAV system performance. You'll closely collaborate with embedded systems and software engineers to bridge hardware, software, and cloud infrastructures seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strong experience with Linux-based OS and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS
• Proficient in C++ or Rust, with additional experience in Python
• Handle real-time sensor data acquisition and processing on edge devices (Linux/RTOS)
• Develop and maintain communication protocols: MQTT, UDP, DDS, WebRTC (GStreamer)
• Ensure real-time communication and secure end-to-end encrypted data transfer between edge systems and cloud (GCP)
• Integrate and enhance ASTRA A7 Software Platform to control autonomous UAV/UGV systems using PX4, Pixhawk, or ROS2
• Build and manage simulation environments on GCP using PX4 Gazebo and sensor data simulators
• Support scaling, optimization, and robust deployment of advanced robotics systems

Ideal Experience: 1-4+ years of hands-on experience as a Robotics / Embedded / Software Engineer around projects similar to our key responsibilities.

Preferred Skillset:

• Knowledge of Pixhawk/PX4 autopilot systems and ArduPilot flight stack, including integration, configuration, customization, and testing of unmanned vehicles (UAV/Drones).
• Experience with data visualization, mapping, and geospatial data processing (GIS software).
• MATLAB and Simulink proficiency for simulation and data analysis.
• Proficiency in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and familiarity with radar data.
• Experience with JavaScript, Docker/Kubernetes - showcase applicable projects.
