Job Description
Summary: AdventHealth Colorado is committed to uplifting others in body, mind, and spirit. They are seeking a Financial Analyst to produce and distribute financial reports, perform data integrity checks, and educate staff on financial systems and tools.
Responsibilities:
- Produces and distributes regular reports from the Financial and Decision Support systems, including physician statistics, readmission rates, mortality stats, losses, costs, market shares, and various ad hoc reports
- Performs integrity checks and reconciliations on data from the Financial and Decision Support systems
- Attains expert knowledge of the Financial and Decision Support systems, including maintenance, data download routines, report writing/query procedures, and data elements
- Educates and trains hospital staff on the use of Financial and Decision Support information and tools
- Applies mathematical analysis to determine the validity and reliability of statistical data
- Reviews and calculates standards/target hours for departments based on budget information
- Maintains and sets up users and departments in the Visionware system, performing daily/bi-weekly data interfaces and validations
- Prepares and distributes statistical reports, including labor-related and supply-related reports, to assist management in decision-making
- Updates budget templates, produces budget reports, and reconciles budget data for presentation
- Assists with General Ledger questions related to budget variances and works closely with Financial Planning and Accounting staff to resolve data design problems
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of health plans
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and operational skills
- Knowledge of statistical measures and concepts including linear regression
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- High-level interpersonal skills. Able to work collaboratively and tactfully with multi-disciplinary and diverse teams
- Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Excel
- Knowledge of SQL
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to deal with data that is of a sensitive and confidential nature
- Strong emphasis on organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Able to take initiative to solve issues
- Must be able to read, write, speak and have good comprehension of conversational English
- Ability to work well independently on tasks assigned to them
- Understanding of finance and accounting concepts
- Critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix-managed environment to achieve organizational goals
- Interpretive analytics and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of healthcare industry
- Highly analytical, detail oriented, and organized
- Strong desire to learn and continuously improve
- Bachelor's
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SAS
- Understanding of payer claims data
- Strong analytical and presentation skills
- Knowledge of healthcare environment
- Business Intelligence Software (Qlikview, HPM, PeopleSoft, OBIEE, Axiom, Athenahealth, SAP, Tableau etc.)
- Microsoft Visual Basic/Access
