Job Description
Summary: Advanced Electric Systems, a Quanta Services, Inc. company, is offering a paid internship opportunity for a Field Engineer Intern. The role involves assisting with project management duties and hands-on field engineering work, providing valuable experience in project coordination and site operations.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and documentation
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and deadlines
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Participate in meetings, take notes, and follow up on action items
- Identify project risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Help maintain project management tools
- Prepare progress reports and presentations for leadership
- Support multiple projects simultaneously under the supervision of a Project Manager
- Assist with daily field operations and project coordination
- Support site inspections and quality assurance activities
- Collect and analyze field data for reporting and documentation
- Help maintain as-built drawings, RFIs, submittals, and other field records
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel
- Monitor safety compliance and support safety documentation efforts
- Assist with material tracking, scheduling, and delivery coordination
- Attend project meetings and document minutes and follow-ups
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution with at least one-year of post-secondary education
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of computer application software (training will be provided if needed)
- Organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
- Prior internship and/or related consulting experience
