Summary: Advance Auto Parts is a recognized leader in the automotive aftermarket industry, seeking interns to gain hands-on experience. Interns will work on meaningful projects, contribute to a next-generation AI-powered reservation engine, and present outcomes to senior leaders. Responsibilities: - Assist with design and implementation of a scalable reservation engine using constraint satisfaction problem (CSP) solvers and optimization algorithms - Develop AI models that learn from booking patterns, user preferences, and business rules to make intelligent allocation decisions - Build constraint-based systems that handle complex scenarios like overbooking prevention, resource conflicts, and multi-dimensional availability - Implement real-time optimization that balances competing constraints (availability, preferences, business rules, fairness) - Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into constraint models and optimization objectives - Assist in engineering high-performance systems capable of handling thousands of simultaneous reservation requests with sub-second response times - Attend meetings and contribute ideas to ongoing projects Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science - Rising or Current Senior at the time of application (Expected Graduation between December 2026 – May 2027) - Highly motivated/ driven.
