Job description
Addition Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our Disease Biology team and contribute to the development and execution of various of bioassays. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in preclinical drug discovery, particularly in designing and executing in vitro assays. They will be a highly collaborative and resourceful scientist with a keen interest to push the boundaries of the PRINT™ technology within the realm of rare and common diseases. This role has vast learning opportunities in the field of permanent gene insertion into the genome and presents a unique opportunity to explore the multifaceted applications of PRINT™ , paving the way for novel therapeutic avenues/novel therapeutic programs and potential partnerships that could redefine the landscape of genetic medicine.
Responsibilities
- Assay Development and Execution: Contribute to the design, development, and execution of cell-based assays to evaluate the efficacy, pharmacology, and delivery of various payloads using PRINT™ technology. Ensure accurate and reliable results through meticulous hands-on execution and record-keeping.
- Extensive Cell Culture Experimentation: Execute and manage day-to-day mammalian cell culture activities, including the culture and maintenance of primary cells, to support experimental objectives.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and present findings in team meetings. Contribute to troubleshooting and refining assay protocols.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and partners to integrate and optimize new assay technologies and methodologies. Your role will be crucial in aligning scientific efforts and achieving project milestones.
- Innovation and Exploration: Stay up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and emerging technologies. Provide input on potential improvements or innovations in assay development and gene therapy applications.
Job Requirements
- Experience in drug discovery research with demonstrated proficiency in assay development, including image-based assays.
- Strong background in mammalian tissue culture, including primary cells.
- Familiarity/experience with a broad range of molecular and biochemical techniques, including but not limited to Imaging, ELISA, ddPCR, qPCR, Western blotting, flow cytometry and enzyme activity assays is a must.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally to achieve shared project goals.
- Familiarity/experience with classical gene therapy is a plus.
- Familiarity/experience with RNA-based therapeutic modalities is a plus (mRNA, RNAi, gene editing).
- Experience with animal models of diseases is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to independently solve scientific problems using multiple technologies and approaches.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications
- PhD in Biology, Cell Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry or related field or Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with significant, demonstrated relevant experience in the industry setting.
Compensation
The expected annual salary range for this full-time position is $111,000 - $150,000 plus eligibility for discretionary bonus and equity incentives. Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience.
