Project Engineer - Plumbing at ACCO Engineered Systems in Seattle, WA

Summary: ACCO Engineered Systems is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the country, dedicated to the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and service of various mechanical systems. The Project Engineer - Plumbing will collaborate with a Project Manager to ensure technical coordination of assigned projects, manage project documents, and maintain communication among all project stakeholders. Responsibilities: - Assist the Project Manager with the following: - Writing of proposals, letters, memos, subcontracts, change orders, and other documents related to project execution - Manage and/or significantly contribute to the development, maintenance, and submission of critical project documents including: RFIs, Submittals, Procurement Logs, Shop Drawings, etc. under the Project Manager’s direction - Coordination of and participation in regular meetings both internal and external (i.e. project kickoff meetings, BIM meetings, schedule meetings, etc.) - Estimating tasks such as performing takeoffs, soliciting quotes from vendors and subcontractors, compiling complete bid estimates, and developing change order packages - Management of job progress and quality onsite as required, including leveraging your design and construction expertise in a hands-on capacity to solve emergent operational and installation challenges - Provide interpretation of technical plans and specifications - Purchasing processes including vendor and subcontractor buyout, procurement tracking, and delivery of purchased items - Project financial management responsibilities such as installation tracking, labor forecasting, invoice review, billing development, etc - Job closeout efforts such as submission of O&Ms, Commissioning, As-Builts, Warranty processing, etc - Collaborate with the Project Management team to keep them informed on all issues affecting project timeline and budget. Escalate potential problems to the Project Manager to help drive solutions to complete resolution - Utilize ACCO standard Engineering technologies, provide technical support for the construction effort including participating in the planning and design, interpretation of the design, value engineering and alternate solution reviews, etc - Develop and maintain viable relationships with our partners outside of ACCO including customers, prime contractors, trade partners, subcontractors, and suppliers - Foster a strong relationship with ACCO’s internal departments (i.e. Construction, Fabrication Shops, Engineering, Accounting, Purchasing, Legal, etc.) - Other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor and/or upper management Required Qualifications: - BS in Engineering; Construction Management, or related field - Mechanical and/or related engineering concentration strongly preferred - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) - Experience and Career Progression: Progression from Project Engineer I to Project Engineer II, III, or a Senior role is based on performance, experience, and demonstrated leadership potential Preferred Qualifications: - Experience preferred in Business Systems Software (JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, Smartsheet, etc.) Required Skills: BS in Engineering, Estimating, BIM methodologies Important Skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Business Systems Software, Technical coordination Nice-to-Have Skills: Perseverance, Engagement, Technical Curiosity, Problem-Solving, Teamwork, Proactivity/Initiative, Motivation/Dedication Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Eligibility to participate in our 100% employee-stock ownership plan, Educational, Skill development, Leadership opportunities
