Custom Software Engineer Location: Bengaluru Project Role : Custom Software Engineer Project Role Description : Develop custom software solutions to design, code, and enhance components across systems or applications. Must have skills : Automated Testing Good to have skills : NA Minimum 12 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary Review LLD test scenarios across squads to ensure completeness and alignment with requirements. Validate system test and cross-domain scenarios, ensuring end-to-end coverage. Oversee story sequencing and acceptance criteria reviews to guarantee business value delivery. Identify upstream and downstream dependencies and ensure test scenarios reflect integration points. Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) and Business Analysts (BAs) to identify POCs and clarify requirements. Roles & Responsibilty Write and guide the team in creating automation test cases, especially to mitigate low capacity situations. Provide hands-on support when the team is blocked on test scenarios. Ensure test code quality through principles of reusability, maintainability, and scalability. Conduct PR reviews for developer code, unit tests, integration tests, performance tests and E2E tests, validating both technical correctness and business purpose achievement. Leadership & Coaching Coach and mentor the team on scenario writing, automation practices, and test design principles. Lead knowledge sharing sessions to uplift testing maturity across squads. Identify and prioritize testing technical debt, create actionable plans, and drive completion. Collaboration & Governance Participate in daily syncs with domain tech leads, squad tech leads, and test leads to ensure delivery alignment. Facilitate cross-squad discussions to address issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies. Represent the squad in the Central QE forum, highlighting cross-domain issues, dependencies, and unblocking challenges. Drive cross-domain approvals for testing approaches and ensure consistency across delivery streams. Collaborate with the QE Lead to determine, validate, and maintain end-to-end (E2E) test scenarios, ensuring alignment with solution design, business workflows, and cross-workstream dependencies. Continuous Improvement Conduct test environment connectivity checks and support teams in resolving environment-related issues. Perform health checks of the testing team, identifying challenges and proposing solutions. Connect with tech leads to identify testing gaps and proactively resolve concerns. Champion CI/CD pipeline integration for testing, ensuring automation is embedded in delivery. Skills & Expertise Backend test automation tools (e.g., REST API testing frameworks, service-level automation). Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated testing. Data understanding and test data management for complex scenarios. Expertise in system integration testing, cross-domain validation, and E2E testing.
