Application Support Engineer Location: Ahmedabad Project Role : Application Support Engineer Project Role Description : Act as software detectives, provide a dynamic service identifying and solving issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Must have skills : Java Standard Edition Good to have skills : NA Minimum 7.5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: USHI, is a platform for automating operational activities in Project facilities, related to the delivery and dispatch of goods, quality testing and handling of required documents. The platform enhances the security and efficiency of interactions between client and its suppliers in terms of merchandise delivery and sales process support. The entire platform was created in-house. (No complete documentation exists) The platform consists of two modules: 1. Application server - this is the part that connects directly to SAP and enables the management of financial and logistics transport, i.e. contract control, planning visits, checking deliveries, checking available quantities, planning orders, etc. 2. Logistics server – supports measuring and controlling the movement of vehicles and commodities, ensuring automation and security of operations on the premises of the facility and document handling. The hardware devices used in logistic server are installed, connected, and configured in the default way. The implementation consists mainly: the configuration and adjustment of settings of hardware devices (eg. scales, barriers, LED panels, RFID antennas, etc.) developing software for communication between USHI and hardware devices, adaptation of the process (algorithm) to local conditions, commissioning the whole process with real traffic. The platform is already implemented in several locations in Europe. Client needs to implement it in next European plants, for which require experienced Java Developer with minimum 10 years of experience in developing enterprise applications. In addition to implementations in new processes and locations, we are also dealing with the maintenance of current implementations and improvements to the system, which, due to its complex infrastructure and complicated technology stack, causes problems related to performance and availability. Whole USHI team is international (Polish, Spanish, Indian). This position is to support team to participate in various implementation projects across Europe with maximum time until March 31, 2027 with possibility to extend afterwards. First contract will be for 6 months. Technology stack: Java 1.8, JEE, Swing, JForms, Java Web Start, Hibernate, JBoss, Tomcat, Oracle, Jasper Reports, BitBucket, Bamboo, SOAP/REST, Linux, Maven, Swing, Git, ADO (nice to have). Tasks: work on USHI implementation projects implement change requests and platform enhancements based on business needs collaborate on device integration at Client locations in Europe troubleshooting production issues related to availability and performance collaborate with Client infrastructure and network teams to address issues related to their areas of business cooperation with external subcontractors who will implement system elements together with the USHI team conceptual and implementation work on modernization and refactoring of the system occasional business trips to Client locations in Europe, frequency depend on implementation needs.
