Job Description
Summary: Accelleron is accelerating sustainability in the marine and energy industries as a global technology leader. The Engineering Internship role focuses on supporting shop operations and field service work related to industrial turbocharger systems, providing hands-on experience in manufacturing and mechanical systems.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct shop audit and implement 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain)
- Establish tool organization systems and permanent storage locations
- Label inventory, toolboxes, and work areas
- Support epoxy flooring and shop layout improvements
- Organize storage areas and digitize tool inventory
- Maintain shop cleanliness and safety standards
- Complete initial safety training and CPR/First Aid certification
- Assist with disassembly, inspection, cleaning, and reassembly support
- Shadow technicians and learn rebuild processes
- Support workflow, tooling, and layout improvements
- Continue shop organization and cleanliness initiatives
- Complete additional technical and safety training
- Prepare job kits, tools, and PPE for field work
- Assist engineers on service jobs (power plants, vessels, industrial sites)
- Follow safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, rigging, and PPE
- Support job execution and post-job cleanup
- Support shop efficiency, organization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace
- Assist technicians and engineers with mechanical and service tasks
- Participate in hands-on shop and field work
- Follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field
- Strong interest in hands-on, mechanical work
- Ability to work in shop and field environments
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and initiative
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in a team setting
