Business Intelligence Developer Intern

Summary: Nautilus Insurance Group is a subsidiary of the W. R. Berkley Corporation, a Fortune 500 company recognized in the property casualty insurance industry. They are seeking a motivated Business Intelligence Developer Intern to identify, obtain, and use data to construct decision support tools and reports for the company. Responsibilities: - Create, validate, and design data-based decision tools - Create new reports and update existing reports providing insights to business partners - Collects, reviews, and analyzes information relative to current operations to support management requests - Creates tools, models and reports to solve problems through the most efficient and effective use of time, software & equipment - Collaborate with team members on department, company, and enterprise-wide projects - Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential - Ability to apply sound judgment and strong decision-making skill Required Qualifications: - Strong work ethic - Ability to thrive in a team environment as well as independently - Robust analytical skills - Effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal - Identify, obtain, and use data to construct decision support tools & reports - Create, validate, and design data-based decision tools - Create new reports and update existing reports providing insights to business partners - Collects, reviews, and analyzes information relative to current operations to support management requests - Creates tools, models and reports to solve problems through the most efficient and effective use of time, software & equipment - Collaborate with team members on department, company, and enterprise-wide projects - Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Ability to apply sound judgment and strong decision-making skill - Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills - Strong Excel and SQL scripting skills - Understanding of programming fundamentals (Python/R) - Understanding of database development/management (SSMS) - Understanding of data modeling and data visualization techniques (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) - Excellent organization skills, able to handle multiple tasks at once - Willingness to tackle challenges with a positive attitude Required Skills: Excel, SQL, Python, R, Database Development, SSMS, Data Modeling, Data Visualization, Power BI, Tableau, Decision Making
