About Abby Care: Powering the future of care at home for all of America.

Abby Care is building the leading AI-native platform for family-led care. America is facing a growing care crisis. Millions more people need care at home than ever. Over 50 million family caregivers support loved ones without the tools, training, or recognition they deserve.

We believe families are the largest untapped caregiving workforce in America, and that technology can help them deliver better care while driving stronger outcomes and greater transparency across the healthcare system.

Abby Care combines clinical oversight with an AI-powered platform to train, enable, and support family caregivers in delivering high-quality care at home. Our platform helps health plans and government partners better understand, verify, and improve care in the home. We expand access to care, reduce reliance on higher-cost settings, and help ensure public dollars are spent effectively.

We are proud to partner with leading health plans, providers, and community organizations and are backed by top VCs. We envision a future where family-led care is a core part of the healthcare system. Abby Care is building that future.

Join us in solving one of the most important challenges of our time.

The Opportunity:

As a Staff Product Manager, you’ll set the standard for how every AI-powered feature in Abby’s platform reaches a caregiver or a clinician. You’ll operate across Abby’s core products (caregiver and clinician) making sure the signal a caregiver captures contributes to the judgement a clinician acts on.

Part of your responsibility is to ensure AI features are ready to leave shadow mode and to ensure that the AI portfolio is trustworthy, coherent, and shipped with rigor. At the Staff level, you are expected to be a force multiplier: operating with high autonomy,, closely partnering closely with our founder, clinical, and engineering leadership to redefine what is possible in home-based care, and influencing how the entire product organization thinks about AI.

This is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California.

What you’ll work on:

• Define the Evaluation Standard: Own the gate clinical or caregiver-facing AI features have to clear. Decide what “ready” means and raise the bar for features to get there.

• Own Cross-Surface AI Consistency: A patient’s baseline, care plan, and chart notes are read and written by both the caregiver and clinician products. Ensure that those systems reason about the same patient the same way, so a signal captured on one surface is reflected in the other.

• Set the Bar for AI Product Development: : Partner closely with the PMs on other product areas to raise the standard of their AI-feature specs, their evaluation criteria, and their partnership with Applied AI.

• Partner Directly with Applied AI Leadership: Work at the architecture level on how caregiver AI and clinician AI are evaluated, monitored, and iterated post-launch.

• Build for Regulated, Clinically Critical Ground Truth: Ensure that evaluation frameworks hold up against clinical scrutiny and payer/compliance review. Partner with clinical leadership and compliance to make sure that products measured against clinician dispositions are rigorous enough to trust.

What success looks like:

• Clinical or caregiver-facing AI features that reach production clear a documented shadow-mode evaluation against real dispositions.

• Caregiver-side and clinician-side AI systems can be proven to reason consistently about the same patient with no contradicting baselines or signals that are dropped at the handoff between surfaces.

• Other AI PMs at Abby Care treat your evaluation standard as the bar.

What you’ll have:

• Experience: 8+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record of leading complex, high-impact AI or ML product initiatives at a Staff or Lead PM level in a high-growth tech environment.

• AI Product Depth: Direct experience designing evaluation frameworks for AI systems in production and deciding how AI features’ real-world performance is measured, monitored, and gated before and after launch.

• Technical Fluency: Strong technical acumen, particularly in working with engineering and Applied ML and AI teams to build data-intensive or AI-driven platforms. You don't need to write code, but you must be able to deeply evaluate technical trade-offs.

• Customer Obsession: Deep empathy for users (in our case, family caregivers and care recipients) and a rigorous approach to qualitative and quantitative research in a regulated environment.

• Relentless Resourcefulness: You thrive in fast-paced startup environments. You adapt quickly, solve challenges with creativity, and deliver results without unnecessary complexity.

• Exceptional Communication: The ability to distill complex healthcare and technical concepts into clear, actionable product requirements and compelling strategic narratives for executive stakeholders.

Bonus / Nice to Have:

• Experience in HealthTech, Medicaid waivers, or highly regulated industries where AI decisions carry compliance or clinical-safety weight.

• A strong background working with LLMs, machine learning, or AI-native consumer products.

• Previous experience navigating a marketplace or labor-supply business model (e.g., gig economy, digital health).

Benefits:

• Competitive compensation packages that reflect the value you bring. We reward our team for the impact of their work.

• Comprehensive health coverage that works for you. Choose from high-quality medical dental and vision options, including a $0 deductible PPO and a company-funded HSA, alongside employer-paid life and disability insurance.

• Generous paid time off. We provide policies that allow you to recharge along with 10 paid company holidays.

• Financial savings benefits to support your future. We support your financial well-being with HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of all 401(k) account fees (employer match not currently offered).

• Paid parental leave to support your growing family. We provide up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave based on tenure, so you can focus on bonding and adjusting to life as your family grows.

Our Values

1. Families First

3. Relentlessly Resourceful
As an ambitious startup, we adapt quickly and make the most of limited time and resources. We solve challenges with creativity to deliver results without unnecessary complexity.

4. Purpose with Positivity
We take our mission seriously while never losing sight of the people behind the work. Respect, kindness, memes, and coffee make us stronger as a team and better for the families we serve.

5. Driven to Redefine What’s Possible
We are here to make healthcare better, which means asking hard questions, challenging outdated systems, and finding smarter, more compassionate ways to deliver care.
