Job Description
Summary: AAM - American Axle & Manufacturing is a leading global Tier 1 Automotive and Mobility Supplier. They are offering a summer internship for talented students to work on meaningful projects, assisting in the design and development of new products and processes while gaining valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the design of new products, processes, product enhancements, or process enhancements by completing various analyses such as design studies, tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, Finite Element Analysis, Design for Assembly/ Manufacturing studies, and Noise, Vibration, and Harshness studies
- Compiles reports and completes documentation to track and facilitate the development process
- Supports the development testing of product designs, processes, surrogate product designs, and surrogate processes; helps schedule required resources; helps procure required materials
- Helps complete development documentation; helps present results to stakeholders and interested parties
- Analyzes system architecture, mechatronic component interfaces, and develops integration and calibration test cases and test plans
- Verifies systems for function and performance on the dyno, HIL, and test bench
- Develops test scripts using scripts such as CAPL, Python, C, etc
- Uses configuration management and test management applications such as IBM RTC, RQM to ensure process compliance
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Available to work at least 40 hours per week
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word)
- Interested in pursuing a career in the automotive industry
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and achieve goals in a fast-paced environment
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. AAM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship (e.g., H1-B, TN, STEM OPT, F-1, etc.) for this role
