Job Description
Summary: 3M is a global company known for its innovative products and technologies. They are seeking a Manufacturing Ops Engineering – Project Engineer who will manage project timelines and budgets, interact with multidisciplinary teams, and oversee equipment design and commissioning.
Responsibilities:
- Managing project timelines and budgets for assigned projects
- Successfully interacting with multiple discipline teams including 3M plant personnel, consultants and suppliers
- Specifying equipment performance and design criteria
- Estimating capital equipment and installation costs
- Defining and executing competitive bidding strategy
- Overseeing plant equipment layout and design
- Coordinate construction activity
- Leading equipment commissioning
- Protecting 3M intellectual property
- Communicating effectively to project team, facility staff and project owners
- Gaining understanding of applicable codes and guidelines to insure designs meet standards
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Possess or in the final year of pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
- Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess or in the final year of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mining Engineering from an accredited program
- 1-3 Years Experience in project management
- Experience in quarry mining and/or heavy industrial operations
- Team player with the ability to contribute in a matrix environment
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated Skills including: Technical leadership capabilities, Defining problem and goals, Generating project scope, Communication and team building with cross-functional members, Obtaining funding, Purchasing, contracting and supplier management, Successful capital project implementation
