Position Overview
The Assistant Registrar supports the Registrar in maintaining accurate student academic records and ensuring the fair and knowledgeable application of academic policies and procedures. This role plays a key part in supporting scheduling, transfer evaluations, graduation processing, and academic systems management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and process transfer credits in accordance with institutional guidelines
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of student academic records
- Coordinate course scheduling, classroom assignments, and schedule updates
- Monitor grade submission and attendance reporting for accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with DegreeWorks maintenance, student exceptions, and graduation certification
- Support commencement planning and coordination
- Provide guidance to faculty and staff regarding records procedures and compliance
- Maintain and troubleshoot academic systems including Banner
- Resolve record discrepancies, duplicate IDs, and historical data corrections
- Ensure compliance with FERPA, institutional policies, and applicable regulations
- Deliver exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff
Required
- Associate’s degree
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students and staff
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working in higher education
- Knowledge of FERPA, Banner, DegreeWorks, or Coursedog
