Facilities Janitorial Associate Department: Facilities / Operations Support Reports To: Facilities Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Schedule: Varies based on operational needs
Job Summary The Janitorial Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment throughout the facility. This role supports employee health, safety, and workplace standards by ensuring that bathrooms, cafeterias, offices, locker rooms, conference rooms, and entryways are consistently clean, stocked, and well-maintained.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, floors, mirrors, and high-touch surfaces
- Clean and maintain cafeterias, including tables, floors, trash removal, and sanitation of common areas
- Restock cafeterias with essential items such as paper towels, napkins, utensils, soap, and other approved supplies
- Clean and maintain offices, conference rooms, and administrative spaces
- Clean and sanitize locker rooms, including floors, benches, and common touchpoints
- Maintain cleanliness of entryways, hallways, and common traffic areas
- Empty trash and recycling containers and ensure proper disposal
- Monitor cleaning supplies and notify supervision when restocking is needed
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and chemical handling procedures
- Use cleaning equipment and supplies properly and safely
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervision
- Support special cleaning projects as needed (deep cleans, events, inspections)
Qualifications
- Previous janitorial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned cleaning schedules
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness standards
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in restrooms and food service areas
Work Environment
- Manufacturing, warehouse, office, and cafeteria environments
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment (PPE provided as required)

- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and frequently bend and move about the facility

Personal Protective Equipment The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing and warehouse areas, which under certain conditions may require the use of personal protective equipment.

This position is eligible for an annual bonus (based on the incentive program terms and conditions).
