Manager Tax Transparency
Location: Westpac on Takutai Square
Mō te tūranga | About the Role
At Westpac New Zealand, we’re committed to building a stronger, safer financial system. We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Tax Transparency to provide independent oversight and expert advice across FATCA and Common Reporting Standard obligations within our Risk function.
This is a high-impact role where you will lead the design, oversight and effectiveness of our tax transparency framework, ensuring robust controls, accurate regulatory reporting, and strong alignment with Inland Revenue Department and global standards.
You’ll work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Product and Operations to provide independent challenge, support decision-making, and embed robust risk management practices across the business.
Ngā mahi | What you’ll be doing
Lead FATCA and Common Reporting Standard reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness
Oversee and strengthen the Tax Transparency control framework, including control testing and issue remediation
Provide independent oversight and challenge of tax transparency risk management practices across the business
Assess impacts of new and existing products, services and business initiatives on tax transparency obligations
Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely implementation of change
Engage and influence stakeholders across Risk, Legal, Product, Operations and Audit
Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?
5+ years’ experience in tax transparency, regulatory compliance or financial crime risk roles
Strong understanding of FATCA, Common Reporting Standard and broader financial services regulation
Experience in risk management, control design, and assurance or testing
Ability to analyse complex issues and provide practical, risk-based solutions
Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
