🔬🎨 Middle School STEAM Program Teacher (Part-Time)
Do you love helping students connect science, technology, engineering, art, and math in creative, hands-on ways? The Washington Pavilion is seeking a Part-Time Middle School STEAM Program Teacher to lead engaging, inquiry-based classes for middle school learners.
This role is ideal for educators, STEAM professionals, graduate students, artists, engineers, or anyone passionate about interdisciplinary learning and youth education.
Program Schedule

8-week sessions offered throughout the school year
-
1 hour of instruction per week
-
Up to 2 hours of paid planning time per week

Consistent weekly schedule during each session
What You’ll Do
-
Teach one-hour STEAM classes once per week to middle school students
-
Design engaging lesson plans aligned with provided curriculum themes and program goals
-
Facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences
-
Adapt activities to meet the needs of diverse learners and grade levels

Prepare materials and supplies for each class

Create and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment

Communicate with program staff regarding student progress, needs, and scheduling

Participate in brief planning or check-in meetings as needed
What We’re Looking For
Required
-
Experience teaching or working with middle school-aged students
-
Strong interest or background in STEAM-related fields (science, technology, engineering, art, math, or education)
-
Strong classroom management and facilitation skills
-
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons
-
Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently
Preferred
-
Teaching license (not required)

Experience with informal education, after-school programs, or enrichment classes
