About the Department
The Office Support II role is an entry-level position ideal for those looking to build administrative experience. Working under the Human Resources Operations Manager, you’ll help support daily office operations with a focus on scanning, organizing, and digitizing documents. Your main responsibility will be converting paper files into accurate digital records and storing them in OnBase or secure network drives.
This role is hands-on, detail-oriented, and important to the County’s records management process. You’ll help keep information organized, accessible, and secure for staff who rely on accurate digital files.
- Previous experience working in an office environment
- Previous experience handling confidential documents and/or data
- Previous experience utilizing office equipment such as a document scanner
HOURS / DAYS: 15 - 20 hours/week. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.

Position Duties
This position performs somewhat complex work under general supervision applying knowledge of departmental procedures, records, and regulations and serves as the primary contact in the area of assignment.
This job classification can be found in several departments and/or divisions throughout the County. Because the position varies slightly from department to department, essential functions will be provided for specific positions when vacancies are being filled.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a High School diploma and two years of experience in the area of assignment, or equivalent. Completion of a related business or office certificate program may be substituted for one year of required experience.
Other Qualifications
- Perform duties using knowledge of procedures, records, and regulations.
- Processes and delivers incoming and outgoing mail.
- Performs phone and reception desk customer service.
- Maintains office equipment and orders supplies.
- Drafts various department documents under general supervision.
- Reviews documents for grammatical errors.
- Collects fees and processes payments and may balance cash accounts.
- Formats and submits reports under supervision.
- Records and maintains various departmental documents.
- Reviews and updates working procedures.
- Enters and maintains data into computer with accuracy.
- Conduct file searches and retrieve documents.
- Initiate purchase orders and pays invoices.
- Collect and record a variety of receipts and disbursements for various funds.
- Compile, calculate and prepare reports and billings.
- Schedule meetings and assist with coordination of department events.
- May mentor and train other OS II clerical staff.
- Communicates technical issues to IT using standard procedures.
- Provide customer service by answering questions from the public in person or over the phone.
- Refer callers or visitors to appropriate department if applicable.
