Job Description
Senior Software Engineer for Process Platforms
Location: Zürich / Splügenstrasse 5
For our technology team in Zurich, we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer. In this role, you will play a key part in designing, implementing, and maintaining systems and interfaces that drive the digitalization of our internal processes. Our modern technology stack includes Java/Kotlin, Kafka, Spring Boot, and OpenShift (Docker).
We are seeking a proactive and communicative individual who enjoys collaborating with stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions, and taking ownership from concept to delivery. You will thrive in a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative environment where continuous learning and improvement are encouraged. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear your story and what motivates you.
What would your role be?
Develop internal applications and/or configure commercial off-the-shelf solutions (e.g., Atlassian Jira) to meet business needs and enhance operational efficiency.
Take ownership of new initiatives, including stakeholder alignment, requirements engineering, solution design, and system architecture, ensuring scalable and sustainable outcomes.
Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to gather, clarify, and prioritize requirements, acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, processes, and standards.
Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for software features, processes, and workflows to ensure transparency and usability.
Act as a trusted partner by troubleshooting and resolving application issues, ensuring stable and reliable operations.
What are we looking for?
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or a completed software engineering apprenticeship
Solid experience with Java/Kotlin and a proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions
5+ years of hands-on experience in software development, showcasing your ability to tackle complex challenges and deliver impactful results
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and explain technical concepts clearly
Knowledge of Atlassian tools, particularly in configuring and operating Jira and/or willingness to develop such skills
A growth mindset: You’re eager to learn, take responsibility, and continuously develop yourself.
Good communication skills in English (mandatory) and German (highly desirable)
What do we offer?
Top Zurich location with collaboration spaces (including rooftop terraces) and free lunch.
Friendly, diverse team in an open-office space.
All the latest technology to help you excel and advance.
Agile environment in how we think, the way we work and our trust for each other.
Flat hierarchy with collaboration on all levels.
Campus feeling and collaborative spirit.
We are looking for talented people, not just a CV that ticks all the boxes. Even if you do not have absolutely everything we have asked for, if this role sounds like a good fit for you, we encourage you to apply.
