Job Description
Summary: Volunteers of America Los Angeles is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving vulnerable populations through various social services. The Entry Level Recruiter will support the Adult and Veteran’s Services programs by managing candidate sourcing, maintaining candidate data, and ensuring a positive applicant experience in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Recruits for identified positions for Adult and Veteran’s Services, including screening, coordinating interviews with Program Management Staff, and ensuring steady pool of active candidates for new grant start up programs
- Updates candidate records and job postings in ATS system
- Coordinates interview schedules with applicants and hiring managers
- Uses detailed screening and selection criteria to identify qualified candidates and to determine the relevant strength of the candidates in the pool
- Actively sources candidates, assisting pipeline creation for fast paced recruitment to organization needs
- Builds a strong candidate pipelines for identified positions, including attending job fairs, schools, college services as identified including identifying user groups and professional associations which could lead to qualified candidates
- Other duties as assigned
- Work collaboratively across multiple office locations and programs to ensure staffing of high quality employees, through best recruiting practices and screening candidates to determine the relevant strength of applicants in the pool
- Participate in the applicant interview process, insuring interviewers from the supported programs are prepared with appropriate and guides, interview questions, and scoring templates
- Assist candidate sourcing and in the development of a candidate pipeline, in order to timely staff existing and new programs
- Input job requisitions and job postings
- Attend job fairs, schools, college services as identified including identifying user groups and professional associations which could lead to qualified candidates
- Maintain ATS, learn JobScore
- Review employment documentation to ensure it is complete and organized, complete employment and education verification of applicants
- Other duties as required and is subject to change at any time
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications
- High School or GED and some college coursework in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- Exposure to the HR field, including recruiting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in recruiting or recruitment function support
- Related experience in a large complex organization
- Knowledge of Recruiting for Education and related fields
- Experience with JobScore ATS preferred
