Job Description
Summary: Vistra Corp. is a global leader in energy and they are seeking an Engineering Intern to provide support for the reliability and efficiency of equipment and processes. The role involves interfacing with engineering staff and participating in various engineering projects while ensuring compliance with safety policies.
Responsibilities:
- Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Vistra personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions
- EIT (Engineer in Training) Program
- Incumbents will rotate through the different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas of the plant
- Areas include, but are not limited to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability and Chemical / Environmental
- Will be assigned various engineering projects
- Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
- Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment
- All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship
- Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in one of our desired engineering disciplines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
- Must be in good academic standing with your school
Preferred Qualifications:
- Access desired
- Presentation skills desired
