Lab/Operator Intern

The Lab/Operator Intern will gain hands-on experience in a certified Environmental Laboratory, performing routine tasks and assisting with laboratory analysis and special projects. Responsibilities: - Performs routine tasks in Laboratory, such as monitoring of the Laboratory’s Deionized Water unit, washing and sterilizing tubes, plates, dishes, etc., used in Laboratory examinations of water samples - May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives - May assist with Laboratory analysis - Prepares media for bacterial examination of water - Operates the Laboratory’s steam autoclave - Updates Safety Data Sheet central file Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED is required - Working towards a four year degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or Related Major and should be in Senior status in their education - 3.0 Cumulative G.P.A required - Strong analytical and communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, presentation and facilitation skills - Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships Required Skills: Laboratory analysis, Preparation of media for bacterial examination, Operation of steam autoclave, Analytical skills Benefits: Medical and basic life insurance coverage is available to temporary employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week immediately following 60 days of service., Veolia observes 11 holidays.
