Vector: Powering Auckland. Shaping the future.
Life at Vector means being part of something bigger.
Here, your work matters. We keep the lights on across Auckland, and each of us plays a key role in the future of the energy industry, building a legacy of clean power for future generations.
We’re embracing opportunities to innovate, collaborating with leading names globally to develop, adopt and share cutting-edge technologies that drive energy sustainability and efficiency.
And while we shape the future, we prioritise yours. Enjoy a comprehensive salary and benefits package, hybrid working and flexibility with hours, and be part of a diverse, inclusive culture that values fresh thinking and career growth.
Culture that powers progress
Hear from our people on what they enjoy most about Vector, why they joined and why they stay.
The role
This is a critical role within our supply chain function, responsible for designing and embedding best-practice Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) analysis across Vector’s portfolio. You’ll bring together multiple data sources to create a single source of truth, transforming raw and often fragmented data into clear, decision-ready insights that support planning, forecasting, and operational delivery. Working end-to-end, you will develop demand forecasts, translate these into actionable supply plans, and ensure inventory is optimised to balance cost, risk, and service outcomes.
Day-to-day, you’ll be hands-on with data – interrogating trends, identifying seasonality and building robust forecasting and planning models. You’ll take ownership of producing high-quality analytical outputs that support planning decisions, while continuously refining reporting, forecasting approaches and inventory optimisation processes in a complex and evolving environment.
What makes this role stand out is the opportunity to build and shape supply chain capability from the ground-up in a low-maturity environment. You’ll have real influence over how planning and inventory is being managed, with the autonomy to develop tools, structure data, and establish processes that drive smarter, more proactive decision-making across the business.
Who are we looking for?
- At least 5 years’ experience in supply chain management, operations research, data science, or a related analytical discipline, with a proven track record in complex environments
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interrogate large and complex datasets, build models, identify trends and seasonality, and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations
- Demonstrated experience in demand and supply planning, forecasting and inventory management (including understanding of replenishment logic, lead times and safety stock)
- Advanced capability with tools such as Excel (critical) and Power BI (or similar), with experience building reporting and analytical outputs from the ground up
- A collaborative, pragmatic mindset — comfortable working in ambiguity, building processes from scratch and aligning on assumptions, insights, and decisions.
Why Vector?
We know that great energy starts with great people, and we’re committed to creating an environment where you can be, do and achieve your best:
- Enhance your wellbeing, protect your future and empower your personal and professional growth through our extensive benefits package
