Infrastructure Platform Engineering Intern

Summary: UTIMCO is a global investment organization, and they are seeking an intern to join their Infrastructure Platform Engineering team. The intern will assist in building, automating, and maintaining the core infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience with modern infrastructure practices and tools while contributing to major initiatives. Responsibilities: - Assist in developing and maintaining infrastructure-as-code (IaC) modules for scalable environments - Support automation efforts for provisioning resources such as virtual machines, networking components, and cloud services - Contribute to infrastructure projects, including identity and access modernization initiatives - Assist in documenting infrastructure configurations, standards, and processes - Collaborate with Infrastructure, Information Security, Data Innovation and Governance, and Application Services teams on cross-functional initiatives - Participate in system design discussions and team meetings - Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure-related issues in development and production environments - Gain exposure to cloud platforms, scripting, and automation tools - Completion of various ad hoc and scheduled projects Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field - Strong interest in infrastructure engineering, cloud computing, and automation - Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt in a fast-paced environment - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Effective verbal and written communication skills - A collaborative team player with a positive, 'can do' attitude - Demonstrated integrity, accountability, and curiosity - Cultural fit is essential in a respectful, collegial, and open working environment Preferred Qualifications: - Expected to graduate in the near future (senior standing preferred) - Basic familiarity with concepts such as operating systems, networking, or scripting (preferred) Required Skills: Infrastructure engineering, Cloud computing, Automation, Operating systems, Networking, Scripting, Curiosity
