Location: Darlington Campus
A unique opportunity to support delivery of the University’s strategic education priorities as part of the Collective Excellence 2026 – 2028 program
Full time, fixed term contract until 31st December 2028
Base Salary $126,065 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
As the Senior Programs Officer, you will support the delivery of curriculum, teaching, and learning initiatives aligned with the University’s Collective Excellence 2026–2028 education priorities within the Education and Students Portfolio. Embedded within the Faculty of Medicine and Health, the role works closely with Faculty leaders, teaching teams, and professional staff to support implementation of the CE28 Education priorities, including Curriculum Quality and Sustainability (CQS), Teaching and Learning Response to AI (TLRAI), and Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET).
The role will support governance, reporting, and implementation activities across CE28 Education priorities, including coordinating project plans, preparing documentation, and supporting communication and engagement processes. Working closely with the Associate Dean (Education), Senior Manager, Education Operations and Projects, and Head of Education, the position helps translate strategic priorities into coordinated Faculty-specific activities and implementation pathways.
The Senior Programs Officer will also support curriculum and assessment reform activities in partnership with Faculty curriculum teams and academic and professional staff, including progression of curriculum changes through established governance processes where required.
Your key responsibilities will include:
translate strategic direction into Faculty-specific activity plans, implementation schedules, and operational workflows to support delivery of CE28 Education priorities (CQS, TLRAI, SET) within FMH
support delivery of CE28 Education priorities through coordinated activity planning, scheduling, workflow management, and clear communication of expectations, timelines, and progress design, implement, and manage project plans with clear timelines, milestones, governance structures, and risk management approaches to ensure quality outcomes
supporting governance processes and reporting, including preparing agendas, papers, minutes, action logs, and tracking milestones, risks, and decisions for relevant committees and senior leaders
partnering with Faculty leadership, and academic and professional staff teams to support coordinated delivery across multiple project workstreams, facilitating effective collaboration and information flow
coordinating and preparing high-quality documentation for working groups, committees, governance bodies, and project reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with University standards
About you
You are a proactive and highly organised professional who enjoys working closely with diverse stakeholders to support complex education and curriculum reform activities. You will bring:
experience within a tertiary education organisation
a strong understanding of Faculty and University curriculum governance structures, policies, business processes, and systems
demonstrated organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
proven ability to build and maintain constructive working relationships with diverse academic and professional stakeholders
highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and tailor messages to different audiences
experience preparing high-quality project and governance documentation, including secretariat support and minute-taking
excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to analyse information and data to identify issues, risks, trends and practical options
demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively, exercising sound judgment and initiative.
