Integrated Predoctoral Psychology Intern

Summary: University Health KC is seeking an Integrated Predoctoral Psychology Intern to participate in a structured internship program that serves as the culmination of doctoral training. The intern will provide advanced clinical mental health services under supervision, including crisis intervention, assessment, psychotherapy, and consultations. Responsibilities: - Provide an advanced level of clinical mental health services in both individual and group settings under the supervision of licensed psychologists - Primary duties include crisis intervention, assessment and diagnosis, short-term stabilization, psychotherapy, psychological testing, evaluations, and consultations - Clinical supervision, educational presentations about clinical topics and research activities may also be provided - Develop strategies for the services provided to meet the multifaceted needs of a diverse population, with attention to the policies and procedures of UH-BH - Interface with internal and external service providers - Provide service with trauma informed care Required Qualifications: - PhD or PsyD Candidate in an APA Doctoral or CPA-accredited clinical (preferred), counseling, or school psychology doctoral program; OR a non-accredited school that has had or has been approved for an APA site visit - Comprehensive Examination successfully completed Dissertation proposal approved by APPIC National Match ranking deadline - Completion of a minimum of 1000 total practicum hours, of which 250 should be Intervention and Assessment hours and 100 should be Supervision hours Master's degree (or equivalent) completed - Completion of all required coursework for doctoral degree (other than dissertation/doctoral project) - Approval to participate in the APPIC National Match - Must have knowledge of psychiatric terminology, the process of diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric disorders - Must have organizational and leadership skills - Must be able to demonstrate good independent judgment, adapt to new duties and work in a changing environment - Must demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of psychotherapy and have basic research skills - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational ability, and social facility are required for the ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and to provide education to staff and in the community - Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or Leadership, Management or Educators in the established timeline for continued employment Required Skills: Psychiatric terminology, Diagnosis of psychiatric disorders, Treatment of psychiatric disorders, Psychotherapy theory, practice, Research skills, Psychological assessment, Psychological intervention, Clinical mental health services, Clinical supervision, Psychological testing, Psychological evaluations, Trauma informed care, Independent judgment, Social facility, Leadership skills
