Business Development Manager & GP Liaison | Buderim Hospital
Employment Term: Permanent Full Time position
Location: Buderim Private Hospital, Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Your part in our Buderim Hospital team
As a Business Development Manager & GP Liaison at Buderim Private Hospital, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable growth for our hospital and the community we serve. Working in close partnership with hospital leadership, clinicians and operational teams, you’ll be empowered to strengthen relationships, identify opportunities and translate strategy into meaningful outcomes that support patients, practitioners and our broader health network. This is an opportunity to bring strategic thinking, trusted relationships and genuine care together and make a lasting impact. You will:
Lead and deliver strategic business development initiatives that support growth, service optimisation and market position at Buderim Private Hospital.
Build, nurture and sustain trusted relationships with Visiting Medical Practitioners (VMPs), General Practitioner and, practice managers.
Identify emerging referral trends, service gaps and market opportunities, translating insights into actionable growth strategies.
Support VMP onboarding, engagement and retention in collaboration with hospital executives and operational teams.
Plan, coordinate and deliver face‑to‑face GP engagement visits to strengthen referral pathways and business growth.
Collaborate closely with the General Manager, clinical leaders and operational managers to align business development activity with hospital capacity and priorities.
Work as part of the broader hospitals business development team to ensure consistency, shared learning and coordinated engagement across sites.
Support hospital‑led events, education programs and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Monitor, analyse and report on business development activity, outcomes and key engagement metrics, providing insights to inform decision‑making and continuous improvement.
What makes a difference for us?
Demonstrated experience in business development, stakeholder engagement or relationship management, ideally within healthcare or a complex service environment.
Proven ability to engage credibly and confidently with senior clinicians and health professionals.
Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate strategic priorities into practical, measurable outcomes.
Experience working within, or alongside, private hospital environments is highly regarded, as is experience in GP liaison or stakeholder engagement.
Excellent communication, relationship‑building and influencing skills.
Strong organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
Current unrestricted Queensland driver licence and willingness to travel locally for stakeholder engagement.
Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related field. Previous GP liaison or private hospital business development experience.
