About the Role:
The Warehouse Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of warehouse activities, focusing on the accurate and timely handling of goods. This position involves managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of products while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The Warehouse Assistant supports inventory control processes to ensure stock accuracy and availability, contributing to overall supply chain effectiveness. Collaboration with team members and other departments is essential to coordinate shipping and receiving tasks and resolve any discrepancies. Ultimately, this role ensures that warehouse operations run smoothly, supporting business objectives and customer satisfaction.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating pallet jacks and forklifts with valid certification where applicable.
• Basic knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management systems.
• Ability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a general warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Familiarity with electric pallet jacks and advanced warehouse management software.
• Basic computer skills including data entry and use of inventory tracking tools.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to work flexible hours including overtime or weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Receive, inspect, and process incoming shipments to verify accuracy and condition of goods.
• Prepare and package orders for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Operate pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts safely to move materials within the warehouse.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through regular stock counts and data entry into warehouse management systems.
• Assist in organizing the warehouse layout to optimize space utilization and workflow efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Collaborate with shipping and receiving teams to coordinate daily logistics and resolve any issues.
