Intern-IT

Summary: UGI Utilities, Inc. is seeking a motivated intern to support their IT department's AI development and implementation initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in applying artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to solve real-world challenges in the regulated utility industry, supporting the enterprise-wide AI transformation strategy. Responsibilities: - Assist in developing and testing AI-powered automation solutions for business processes - Support natural language processing (NLP) projects for document processing and form validation - Contribute to proof-of-concept development for AI use cases across utility operations - Help build and refine prompts, workflows, and integrations for AI platforms - Support the evaluation and documentation of AI tools and platforms for enterprise applications - Assist with data preparation, cleansing, and validation for AI/ML model training - Help monitor and troubleshoot AI system performance and user adoption - Participate in testing and quality assurance for AI implementations - Work with cross-functional teams including GIS, SAP, Field Services, and business operations - Document processes, findings, and best practices for AI solution development - Support change management activities and user training for AI tools - Contribute to presentations and reports on AI project outcomes Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or related field - Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts and applications - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment - Interest in learning about enterprise systems and utility operations Preferred Qualifications: - Familiarity with Python, APIs, or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) - Experience with AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) - Understanding of data analysis and visualization - Knowledge of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies Required Skills: AI/ML concepts, Python Important Skills: Data analysis, Cloud platforms Nice-to-Have Skills: Software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, Communication skills, Problem-solving skills, Teamwork Benefits: Competitive total compensation plan, Comprehensive benefits, Upward mobility opportunities, True work life balance, Mentorship from IT leadership and technical professionals
