Job Description
Summary: Trane Technologies is a world leader in creating sustainable climate solutions for buildings, homes, and transportation. They are seeking a collaborative and creative UX Design Intern to contribute to designing next-generation digital experiences across AI-powered platforms and IoT applications, providing hands-on experience across the full UX lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Support the design of user experiences for web, mobile, and emerging digital interfaces
- Participate in user research, persona development, and journey mapping
- Create wireframes, user flows, visual design and interactive prototypes using tools like Figma
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers in an agile environment
- Explore and apply AI-driven UX patterns (e.g., conversational UX, personalization, intelligent recommendations)
- Contribute to design system components, guidelines, and documentation
- Assist in usability testing and synthesize insights into actionable design improvements
- Present design concepts and rationale to team members and stakeholders
- Stay current with UX trends, AI innovations, and modern design practices
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in UX Design, HCI, Interaction Design, Product Design, Digital Media or related field
- Basic understanding of user-centered design principles and design thinking
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
- Strong curiosity and interest in AI, emerging technologies, and digital experiences
- Good communication and collaboration skills
- Portfolio (academic or personal projects) demonstrating design thinking and problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in AI/ML applications in UX (GenAI, chat interfaces, personalization)
- Exposure to mobile design, data visualization, or IoT interfaces
- Basic understanding of design systems or front-end technologies (HTML/CSS/JS)
- Interest in industrial, enterprise, or B2B product design
