Job Description
Summary: Thermo Fisher Scientific is dedicated to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. The Depot Repair Technician II will provide maintenance, repair, and calibration services for scientific instruments while ensuring compliance with ISO standards and delivering excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Provide maintenance, repair, and calibration services for scientific instruments including Gas Analyzers and Industrial Hygiene Monitors
- Diagnose and repair sophisticated environmental and process monitoring equipment
- Maintain detailed documentation in CRM and ERP systems
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards
- Work with customers on service matters and manage service orders
- Perform calibrations and maintain precise records of all repairs and test results
- Collaborate with teams including Service, Engineering, Technical Support, and Materials Management
Required Qualifications:
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screen
- HS diploma/ GED required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in electronics repair or related technical field
- Strong electronics and troubleshooting background
- Proficiency in diagnostic testing and repair of electronic instruments
- Experience with ESD protocols and 5S practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and CRM systems (particularly Salesforce)
- Strong documentation skills for maintaining ISO-compliant repair records
- Experience with component soldering
- Ability to work with small parts under microscope using precision tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team goals
- Knowledge of ISO 9000 requirements and quality control procedures
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Ability to maintain productivity while meeting repair targets
- Physical ability to handle equipment and wear required PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates degree or certificate from technical school strongly desired
- Preferred Fields of Study: Chemistry
