DESCRIPTION:
Join our Finance team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and contribute to our mission to enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. As an Accountant I, you'll handle financial operations while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a global environment. You'll have opportunities to enhance processes, ensure compliance, and contribute to the company's continued growth and success through accurate financial management and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accounting journal entries for monthly close transactional activities
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations for general ledger and sub-ledger accounts.
Processing Intercompany Invoices in a timely and accurate manner resolving any issues
Review and clear aged intercompany AR items
Agree intercompany AR balances with appropriate counterparty for month-end close
Process intercompany netting payments and allocate any payments/receipts on a monthly basis
Monthly analysis of goods received but not invoiced (GRNI)
Support resolution of intercompany out of balances
Support requests from external and internal auditors as well as various groups company-wide
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Complete ad-hoc projects as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 2 yrs of experience in RTR process particularly in Intercompany Accounting • Preferred Fields of Study: Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is advantageous
• Proficiency in major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Excel
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, month-end close processes, and financial controls
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities with high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with account reconciliations and journal entry preparation
• Strong organizational skills with ability to meet strict deadlines
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
• Experience with financial reporting tools and systems (Hyperion, BlackLine) preferred
