Job Description
Summary: The Pivot Group is a company committed to fostering meaningful relationships in the manufacturing community. They are seeking Help Desk Technicians to provide technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring optimal performance and reliability in manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support for IT hardware, software, and network issues across office and production environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues for specialized manufacturing equipment, including barcode scanners, label printers, and shop floor terminals
- Manage and prioritize help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution and escalation to minimize production downtime
- Install, configure, and maintain workstations, peripheral devices, and software applications for new and existing employees
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting for wired and wireless connectivity on the production floor
- Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and create knowledge base articles for common manufacturing IT issues
- Conduct routine checks and preventative maintenance on IT assets to ensure optimal performance and reliability
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in troubleshooting Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and common hardware (desktops, laptops, printers)
- Experience providing IT support within a manufacturing or industrial environment, including shop floor technology
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi) and connectivity troubleshooting
- Strong customer service and communication skills, particularly with diverse production staff
- Proficient in using IT service management (ITSM) tools for incident logging and resolution
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting manufacturing-specific software (e.g., ERP, MES, SCADA)
- Familiarity with industrial hardware (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, ruggedized PCs) and network environments
- Understanding of IT security best practices relevant to Operational Technology (OT) environments
- Experience with inventory management and lifecycle support for IT assets in a production setting
