Director, Ambulatory Services - Eye & Ear Institute and Jameson Crane
Department:
Ambulatory Services | 161 and Hamilton Administration
SCOPE OF POSITION
The Director of Operations will provide strategic and operational leadership for the Ohio State Eye and Ear Institute (EEI) and The Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute — two highly specialized, high-complexity ambulatory campuses within The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. EEI is a five-story, 137,000 gross square foot facility that includes a hospital-based ambulatory surgery center with seven operating rooms and seven core specialty services, supporting complex procedural, surgical, and multidisciplinary outpatient care. Jameson Crane is a three-story, approximately 116,000 gross square foot destination sports medicine and orthopedic institute that includes a hospital-based surgery center with four operating rooms, integrated rehabilitation and imaging services, orthopedic urgent care, and strong interdisciplinary coordination across clinical, surgical, rehabilitation, performance, and research programs.
This role is accountable for the overall operational performance and campus integration of both sites, including achievement of key metrics related to financial stewardship, patient experience, employee engagement, safety, quality, operational throughput, and service excellence. The Director will work closely with clinical, perioperative, and administrative leadership to support regulatory readiness, accreditation standards, and ongoing compliance efforts across both facilities. In addition, the Director will oversee shared operational services supporting the campuses and serve as a key connector across physicians, clinical teams, support departments, and enterprise partners to ensure a cohesive, patient-centered experience. This position will also act as an executive liaison to surrounding communities and external partners, supporting community engagement efforts that strengthen relationships, elevate OSUWMC’s presence and reputation, and reinforce each site’s role as destination ambulatory care centers.
POSITION SUMMARY
