PARALEGAL | Insurance & Financial Services Division

Summary: The Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development is seeking a motivated individual to serve as a Paralegal in the Insurance & Financial Services Division. The role involves providing administrative and investigative support related to financial services, assisting attorneys in litigation, and managing data and communications. Responsibilities: - The Paralegal will provide administrative, technical, and investigative support relating to ongoing settlement implementations, mediations, and consumer outreach - The Paralegal will also assist IFSD attorneys and technical staff in ongoing litigation and related investigations. Such assistance will include organizing and reviewing discovery materials; analyzing and manipulating large quantities of data; performing research; managing and reviewing files; entering case information into databases; engaging in communication with consumers, witnesses, experts, and others by mail, electronic mail, and telephone; and assisting in the drafting of various memoranda, consumer advisories, and reports - The Paralegal will also input data into Excel and perform formulaic computations and searches on this data Required Qualifications: - Committed to working in the public interest - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines - Demonstrated ability to complete complex tasks, follow instructions, be intellectually curious, and produce high-quality work product based on financial services data - Effective analytical, research, and communication skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Excel. Other programming or data analysis experience is also helpful Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, preferred - Experience providing support to experts and attorneys in a legal setting, preferred - Familiarity with consumer lending rules, securities regulation, and/or consumer insurance issues, preferred Required Skills: Legal support, Consumer lending rules, Securities regulation, Consumer insurance issues, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Data analysis
