Job Description
The QEHS Technician – Packing is the most experienced technical role within Quality Packing and is responsible for managing the Incident Management process in the assigned building, while ensuring compliance with Packing Quality standards during the night shift. This role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to achieve the highest quality levels and supports the establishment and maintenance of quality standards within the packing process.
The role does not include direct people management responsibilities; however, it requires informal coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and technical guidance across teams to ensure alignment on quality standards and operational priorities. The position is expected to influence and support different areas, facilitating effective communication and coordination to achieve shared quality and performance objectives.
The role will require approximately three weeks of international travel for training in September 2026. Incumbents are expected to either possess a valid passport or be able to obtain one prior to travel. The LEGO Group will support the work visa process as needed.
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Support implementation and confirmation of EHS Management System processes within the Packing area.
- Participate in incident management, including initial reporting, investigation support, and corrective action follow-up.
- Support during drills and emergencies.
- Actively promote safe behaviors, hazard identification, and incident prevention.
- Ensure unsafe conditions are called out immediately and support emergency response activities as required.
Quality Assurance & Packing Quality
- Perform and coordinate visual, functional, and dimensional inspections of packed products in accordance with global and local quality standards.
- Ensure AQL sampling, packing process audits, and adherence to work instructions are driven consistently across shifts.
Finished Production Release (FPR) Support
- Oversee and support Finished Production Release activities within Packing, ensuring alignment with defined quality standards and release criteria.
- Sample collection and shipment activities as required.
- Provide partner concern and decision support for FPR-related issues and deviations.
Administrative, Mentorship & Operational Support
- Provide administrative support for QEHS activities, including documentation control, report consolidation, schedule coordination, and system updates.
- Provide support to the Quality Engineer by gathering information, supervising production orders, collecting data, measuring production samples, and supporting investigations related to internal and external complaints.
- Maintain QEHS documentation in SharePoint and other required systems.
- Support audit preparation and follow-up activities, ensuring documentation accuracy and readiness.
- Assist the QEHS Manager with data compilation, metrics tracking, and reporting as required.
- Provide day-to-day mentorship and technical guidance to main team members to support consistent execution of the global quality standards.
Coverage & Hands-On Execution
- Perform all job functions of the QEHS Technician role as needed to ensure operational continuity.
- Provide coverage during absences, high workload periods, or incidents requiring additional QEHS support.
- Support training and onboarding of QEHS Technicians related to standard work execution and expectations.
- Review non-conforming material disposition, verify containment effectiveness, and support root cause and corrective action activities.
- Ensure daily quality reports, visual management boards, and shift debrief updates are accurate and completed on time.
- Support the training of quality members regarding execution of the internal processes and global standards.
- Shift: 12 hour, nonrotating 2-2-3 schedule pattern.
Experience
- Three to five years of experience in manufacturing, quality, or QEHS-related roles.
- Demonstrated experience performing QEHS Technician or equivalent quality and safety functions.
- Experience working across multifunctional teams.
Education
- Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong working knowledge of quality systems, inspections, non-conformance management, and packing processes.
- Working knowledge of EHS processes, incident management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Strong organizational, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to analyze data, prioritize issues, and support decision-making.
- Proficiency in traceability tools.
