Intern - BSOS

Summary: The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine (HJF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing military medicine. They are seeking an intern to support translational military trauma research, performing a variety of laboratory tasks including data acquisition and analysis. Responsibilities: - Assists in assembling equipment and in preparing materials for experiments. Prepares reagents, solutions, and culture media - Maintains and provides custodial care for laboratory specimens, slides, models, equipment, supplies, and glassware - Maintains laboratory equipment and supplies - Assists in conducting semi-routine experiments and analyses - Assists in data acquisition, data analysis, and interpretation of data - May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED required - Minimum of 0–2 years experience required - Currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing; biomedical engineering, biology, or related field preferred - Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment and supplies - Ability to follow detailed instructions - Ability to handle multiple tasks - Familiarity with general principles of biomedical research - Comfort working in an animal and/or wet-lab environment Preferred Qualifications: - Currently enrolled undergraduate student in good academic standing; biomedical engineering, biology, or related field preferred Required Skills: basic laboratory equipment, supplies, general principles of biomedical research, Comfort working in an animal lab environment, Comfort working in a wet-lab environment, follow detailed instructions, handle multiple tasks Benefits: HJF offers a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on your health and well-being, from medical, dental, and vision coverage to health savings and retirement plans, and more.
