Internal Audit Intern

Summary: Texas Permanent School Fund Corporation is a constitutionally established education endowment with a long history of supporting Texas public schools. The Internal Audit Intern position provides hands-on experience in accounting and auditing, assisting with audits, reviewing financial records, and identifying areas for improvement. Responsibilities: - Assist in conducting internal audits of company processes, procedures, and controls - Assist in developing audit plans, testing procedures, and workpapers - Help identify areas of potential risk or non-compliance and make recommendations for improvement - Review and analyze financial statements, reports, and documentation for accuracy and compliance with regulations - Assist in preparing audit reports and presentations for management - Support the audit team in special projects and initiatives as needed Required Qualifications: - Must be enrolled in a four-year accredited institution - Must be an undergraduate rising junior or senior (May 2026 graduates are welcome) or a graduate student - Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher while majoring in Accounting, Finance, or other related business areas - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software for data analysis - Knowledge of accounting principles and regulations to ensure compliance - Strong critical thinking and analytical skills to identify and resolve issues - Attention to detail and diligence to ensure accuracy in auditing processes and reports - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings and recommendations - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment - Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in internal auditing - Ability to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure - Ability to sit and work at a desk and computer for extended periods - Work requires mobility around the worksite routinely to carry out duties - This position may periodically require the ability to lift, carry, move and/or set up equipment and materials that weigh up to 15 pounds - Domestic and/or international travel up to 15% - Hybrid office/telework schedule with majority of time spent in-office - Ability to work/travel outside of normal business hours Required Skills: Microsoft Excel, Accounting Principles, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Statement Analysis, Internal Auditing, Analytical Skills Benefits: Retirement benefits, Employer paid health and basic life insurance, Generous paid holidays, Multiple retirement options, Longevity pay, A range of optional insurance plans, Various in-house training and professional development opportunities, Free downtown parking, Flexible work arrangements
