Job Description
Summary: Texas Oncology is the largest community oncology provider in the country, and they are seeking a Pharmacy Analytics Intern to support their Corporate Pharmacy Team. The role involves implementing and maintaining applications, analyzing corporate information, and ensuring high levels of customer service and communication with clients.
Responsibilities:
- Implements, maintains, troubleshoots and resolves problems relating to company Applications
- Participates in the analysis of Corporate Information to ensure accuracy, timeliness, conciseness and value
- Achieves a high level of customer service and communication with clients
- Gains a working knowledge of the company's business drivers and determines opportunities/benefits for improvement of business performance by using information technologies
- Ensures that network practices are effectively and efficiently supported in their use of technologies by providing creative problem solving and/or referring to other appropriate company resources
- Identifies and recommends technology opportunities for solving business problems
- Maintains a high level of understanding of the use of information technologies in healthcare in relation to physician practices, patient care, continuum of care, electronic medical records and clinical research
- Works with other IT staff to deploy company strategies in the field and resolve problems
- Participates in technology planning and development cycles
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be a rising junior or senior at a college or university in Computer Science, IT or related discipline
- Excellent customer service skills required
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
- Strong attention to detail required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entry level position, zero (0) to three (3) years experience in implementing client/server based information systems preferred
- Experience with Electronic Health Records, relational databases, client servers, internet architecture and applications implementations preferred
- Project leadership skills preferred
- Clinical knowledge/experience preferred
- Proficiency in basic skills of Microsoft Suite
