Job Description
Summary: The Texas Department of Transportation is seeking an Administrative Support Intern for their Information Technology Division. This role involves providing clerical and organizational assistance to the Business Operations team, handling routine office tasks, and supporting daily operational needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the coordination and scheduling of calendar events, including the reservation and preparation of conference rooms. Ensures all room equipment and technology function properly and demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently
- Supports the processing of administrative documents, including badge forms, visitor notifications to security, timesheet corrections, purchase requests, and requisitions
- Contributes to the development, documentation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance administrative efficiency and operational consistency
- Provides assistance to the Business Operations team on special projects and actively supports the planning, organization, and execution of special events
- Manages the receipt, sorting, and distribution of incoming mail and packages in an accurate and timely manner
- Performs additional job-related duties as assigned to support departmental operations
Required Qualifications:
- Must be a student in high school or other educational institution or accepted into a college, university or educational institution
- Must be at least 16 years of age, a student currently enrolled in high school or any institution of higher education to include a trade/vocational school
- Employees at least 18 years of age with valid driver's license may be assigned driving duties and may use power tools
