Internship, Software Validation Engineer, Chassis Systems (Fall 2026)

Summary: Tesla is a leading electric vehicle and clean energy company. They are seeking an intern for the Software Validation Engineer position within the Chassis Systems team to develop automated validation infrastructure and execute regression test suites for safety-critical software. Responsibilities: - Create and develop automated Software in the Loop (SIL) and Hardware in the Loop (HIL) validation infrastructure to enable reliable, efficient, thorough, accurate, and repeatable tests - Develop and execute automated regression test suites for safety-critical chassis software - Continuously analyze and improve regression test suite coverage - Create and execute board level test plans to expose weaknesses or faults Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field of study with a graduation date between December 2026 - December 2027 - Excellent proficiency in Python or C - Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with Rust is a plus - Scripting skills in other common languages is a plus (Perl, Shell, Bash) - Knowledge and experience with automation and build tools is a plus (Jenkins, Docker, SCons, Buck) - Ability to read and review electronic circuit schematic is a plus Required Skills: Python, C, Rust, Perl, Shell scripting, Bash, Git, Continuous integration, Jenkins, Docker, SCons, Buck, Electronic circuit schematic reading, Software in the Loop (SIL) validation, Hardware in the Loop (HIL) validation, Automated regression testing Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Fall Benefits: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction, Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits, Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
