Job Description
Summary: Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies is a global leader in medical devices impacting patient lives. The Commercial Finance Intern will support the finance team by analyzing business performance, contributing to forecasting processes, and developing insights for decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze financial and business data to identify trends, variances, and potential opportunities or risks impacting performance
- Support preparation of weekly and monthly sales performance reporting, helping to summarize key insights for the finance and commercial teams
- Assist in forecasting and planning processes by compiling data, validating inputs, and performing foundational analysis
- Contribute to the development of dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using Excel and other systems to improve visibility into business performance
- Support budgeting activities, including data consolidation and variance analysis
- Assist with financial models and analysis related to pricing, customer opportunities, and business cases under guidance of senior team members
- Help track and manage operating expenses and identify potential cost savings opportunities
- Participate in cross-functional projects with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, and Finance teams
- Provide support for ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, basic data analysis)
- Interest in financial analysis, forecasting, and business performance
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with data
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications:
- Junior or Senior standing
- Prior internship, coursework, or project experience involving finance, analytics, or business is a plus
- Exposure to Excel-based analysis or financial modeling through coursework is preferred
