Job Description
Summary: Sussex IM is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist responsible for planning, managing, and improving supply chain processes. The role involves acting as a liaison between Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure successful product launches and efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
- Act as supply chain liaison and project coordinator for new and complex product launches
- Own customer setup in IQMS, including:
- Part numbers
- Labeling requirements 5S activities
- System validation and testing
- Coordinate training and readiness with Production teams (Admin Supervisors, MTS, Cell Leads, etc.)
- Assist Engineering with BOM maintenance and updates to ensure accuracy for recurring production jobs
- Support development and optimization of manufacturing line layouts for new product launches to improve flow, labor efficiency, work instructions, and ergonomics
- Act as liaison between Engineering and Production to ensure manufacturing readiness and clarity of process requirements
- Support documentation and standardization of work instructions, line setups, and process flows
- Identify, lead, and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Apply Lean principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Support 5S and visual management improvements
- Participate in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Gemba projects
- Utilize IQMS, reporting tools, and data analytics to:
- Support scheduling, inventory, and operational decisions
- Identify trends in production, scrap, and inventory
- Analyze customer demand and production data to identify risks and opportunities
- Support implementation of automation and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual processes
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity to enable reliable reporting and future AI-driven insights
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows through data, reporting tools, and digital solutions
- Serve as backup for Production Scheduling
- Support WIP to finished goods conversions and system accuracy
- Assist with production reporting and system transactions
- Support cycle counts and physical inventory at all locations
- Work closely with:
- Engineering (BOMs, process setup)
- Manufacturing (execution, efficiency)
- Quality (process compliance and improvement)
- Supply Chain (planning and inventory)
- Support cross-functional initiatives that improve end-to-end operational performance
- Identify, manage, and complete continuous improvement projects
- Follow environmental and safety policies
- Maintain a safe 5S working environment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a team environment

- Proactive, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects

Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of Supply Chain or related experience preferred, will train for someone with good aptitude
- Experience with ERP systems (IQMS or similar) preferred
- Exposure to data analytics tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) preferred
- Familiarity with automation tools or digital workflows preferred
- Basic understanding or exposure to AI-enabled tools in supply chain or operations
