Job Description
Summary: SMBC Group is a top-tier global financial group offering a diverse range of financial services. The Fund Finance Portfolio Management Analyst position focuses on developing reporting capabilities related to collateral values for the fund finance portfolio, while also supporting broader portfolio management responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Create insights from the proprietary data obtained from FFSD’s access to the composition of capital commitments to the largest private equity funds in the world
- Develop standardized excel templates using INDEX(MATCH()) and other formulas that will be fed into the reporting database and materially boost update efficiency
- Responsible for the routine and ad hoc updates of deal and collateral values in the database
- Assist with downstream reporting and analysis derivative from the database’s data
- Help build out and establish policies, procedures, and user guides related to the new reporting database
- Contribute to planning functions including determining profitability, projecting budget, extrapolating and stress testing funding scenarios, and global pipeline management
- Reconcile conflicting workbooks/data sets and remedy the root cause
- Monitor and provide reporting on the portfolio-level regarding risk frameworks, exposure management, and other KPIs and limits
- Prepare internal and external presentations for senior stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, or related field
- Knowledge of basic corporate finance and accounting
- Familiarity with corporate banking, bank regulations, risk and compliance factors and regulatory matters a plus
- Inherent pride in one's work
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Desire for continued learning, and ability to expand role over time
- Moderate experience in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with, or desire to learn about, low-code databases/ systems of record
- Strong written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organization
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively to meet strict and competing deadlines
- Highly collaborative and flexible in a team and client environment and ability to form good relationships
- Proficient using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
