Job Description
Summary: Stifel Financial Corp. is a leading firm in equity research with a strong focus on client success. They are seeking a Research Associate I to provide analytical and organizational support to senior Research Analysts, including building financial models and conducting data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain Excel-based financial models, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and discounted cash flow analysis
- Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, relating constants and variables, restrictions, alternatives, conflicting objectives, and their numerical parameters
- Analyze information obtained from management in order to conceptualize and define operational problems
- Perform validation and testing of models to ensure adequacy; reformulate models as necessary
- Building and updating comp sheets
- Managing the databases and electronic data services (i.e. Bloomberg, FactSet, etc.)
- Meet the special projects demands of the senior level Research Analysts
- Use all resources to determine and locate relevant data
- Build industry knowledge and contacts
- Work both independently and collaboratively, effectively managing individual responsibilities while contributing to team-oriented research efforts
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 0 to 2 years of Financial Services or relevant industry experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
