Job Description
Summary: State Street is a global leader in financial services, helping institutional investors manage risk and drive performance. They are seeking a Java Full Stack Developer to support the enhancement and maintenance of enterprise-grade applications in an Agile environment, focusing on full lifecycle development and cross-team collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Java-based application built on Oracle Exadata platform
- Participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements analysis, design, development, code reviews, testing, and deployment
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, providing engineering-level (L2 / L4) support to development teams
- Develop and optimize database interactions using Oracle SQL/PLSQL
- Work in UNIX/Linux environments, including scripting, log analysis, and process troubleshooting
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, DevOps engineers, and architects to guide application design and technical direction
- Support CI/CD pipelines and contribute to improvements in build, deployment, and release automation
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation and Architecture diagrams for code, configurations, and integrations
- Facilitate integration between multiple systems, platforms, and applications
Required Qualifications:
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring / Spring Boot / REST APIs, and enterprise application development
- Solid experience with Oracle Database, including ANSI SQL and PL/SQL development
- Proficiency in UNIX/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting and command-line utilities
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automation tools
- Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban) and tools such as Jira / RTC
- Experience in utilizing VERACODE for Code Vulnerabilities
- Bachelor's degree (BS or higher) in Computer Science or a related field
- 1–3 years of hands-on development experience in Java-based enterprise / Oracle Database applications
- Proven experience in design, coding, and code reviews within a team-based development environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an engineering mindset
- Self-motivated, fast learner with a strong “get-things-done” attitude
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to Azure / AWS cloud and cloud-based application deployments
- Knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts
- Understanding of financial markets and asset classes (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives) is a plus
- Exposure to Infrastructure monitoring tools such as SPLUNK / Dynatrace
