About the Role
The Polio Services Victoria Grade 2 Physiotherapist will be responsible for the provision of evidence-based practice comprising of comprehensive assessment, treatment and education for people attending the clinic who have polio related health issues.
You will:
- Provide appropriate, timely, clinical best practice in management of people with polio related health issues. This may include group-based or individual physiotherapy sessions including aquatic physiotherapy as required
- Participate and contribute to multidisciplinary goal setting, care planning and discharge planning as appropriate
- Attend PSV clinics – metropolitan and regional (shared across physiotherapy team)
- Actively participate in/ contribute to/develop relevant PSV quality or clinical research projects
- Provide instruction and teaching for other health professionals and physiotherapy students as to best practice methods in physiotherapy for management of polio related health issues.
Classifications for this position will be VB1 – VB4 ($90,235 to $103,724 per annum, pro rata for part time).
Your Contribution
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Current Physiotherapy Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Eligibility for Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) membership
- Victorian Drivers license
- Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About Polio Services Victoria
The Health Independence Program (HIP) is designed to deliver improved outcomes for clients and to support hospital demand management and flow, through delivering integrated and coordinated care to clients across the hospital and community interface, reducing duplication and fragmentation of services and ensuring client centred care planning.
Within the HIP Disability Stream, Polio Services Victoria (PSV) delivers a multidisciplinary outpatient service from St. Vincent’s Fitzroy campus, and six regional clinics in Victoria annually.
Polio Services Victoria was established by the Victorian Government in early 1998 to provide ongoing expertise and support for people who have had polio. This includes specialist multidisciplinary assessment, provision of information and education to health providers and clients, liaison with other health care providers and clients to develop patient-centred plans, delivery of polio specific specialist care.
