Job Description
Summary: DuPont™ Spectrum™ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Intern to support the manufacturing engineering team in enhancing manufacturing systems and processes related to Injection Mold Processing. The intern will engage in various projects focused on continuous improvement, implement engineering concepts, and collaborate with quality assurance and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Manufacturing Engineering projects as assigned
- Execute Lean/6-Sigma disciplines focusing on Continuous Improvement
- Implementing creative ideas in the process of manufacturing and understanding the technicalities related with the products
- Hands-on approach on improving the manufacturing process by implementing engineering concepts and optimizing the production of the products
- Support Validation Team in transitioning new programs to production including manufacturing line, secondary operations and production planning
- Configuring the products and providing manufacturing specifications to the teams involved in documentation to help prepare guides and instructions
- Working with the manufacturing department and help them understand the technical concepts that should be looked after during the manufacturing process of the products
- Working closely with the quality assurance team to make sure that the product is meeting the quality constraints as well
- Identify and/or Lead Continuous Improvement/Lean Projects either individually or with team
- Participate in NCR/Continuous Improvement meetings as required
- Partner with Quality Assurance team members to identify any quality concerns within areas of ownership
- Interact positively with all Apex personnel
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Enrollment in or recent completion of an Engineering program
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of mechanical inspection equipment
- Ability to use mainframe terminal and personal computer as they relate to the required tasks
