About the role
The Director of Human Resources provides strategic and operational leadership for all HR functions across an automotive accessory distribution organization. This role partners closely with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives while ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and a strong, performance-driven culture across warehouse, logistics, sales, and corporate teams.
What you'll do
Develop and execute HR strategies that support company growth, operational scalability, and cultural alignment.
Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategy.
Oversee recruitment strategies for warehouse, logistics, sales, and corporate roles across multiple locations.
Partner with operations leadership to forecast labor needs and support seasonal and growth-related hiring.
Improve hiring efficiency, onboarding, and retention in a high-volume distribution environment.
Lead employee relations matters including investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
Ensure consistent application of performance management processes, disciplinary procedures, and company policies.
Support leadership with coaching, performance improvement plans, and succession planning.
Develop and administer competitive compensation and incentive programs aligned with market benchmarks.
Oversee benefits programs including medical, retirement, and wellness offerings.
Administer Payroll to ensure accurate wage administration, incentives, and compliance.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including wage and hour regulations, OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
Maintain employee handbook, HR policies, and compliance documentation.
Manage workers’ compensation and employment-related risk mitigation.
Develop leadership training, supervisory skills, and compliance training programs.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Support DEI initiatives and employee engagement strategies appropriate to a distribution workforce.
Oversee HRIS systems (Rippling, ADP, or similar) and ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
Track HR metrics including turnover, time-to-fill, engagement, and training effectiveness.
Drive process improvements and automation within HR operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
- Experience supporting warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments
- Strong knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
- Proven experience partnering with executive leadership
- HRIS implementation or optimization experience.
